Layla came into rescue from an abuse situation. Her eyes and skin were not cared for properly and resulted in eye abrasions, blindness, loss of hearing, skin lesions and baldness. Layla was taken to an ER on her transport where she stayed for 4 days, before being transported to a vet center in PA. Doctors and techs have been working with her daily to try to resolve some issues prior to making the decision whether to remove her eye lids or enucleate her eyes. She has been started on prescription food to eliminate existing food allergies. Layla had shut down, but now is showing personality. She will remain in ICU over the next week, with rescuers visiting her daily. Layla's bills are accumulating quickly.
